This year, in echo to what underpins the festival theme Diversified Thinking and Boundless Creativity, the opening film Friends or Foes, by the acclaimed director Shau-di WANG, is presented in the unique form of a creative workshop, which follows the opening showing whilst its ending is untold. During this Opening Film and Workshop, director Wang will guide our young audience in person to co-create and submit their own endings for the story. One of the submitted pieces will be selected and filmed as the final ending for showing on PTS channels this summer.
Children actually make a lot of important decisions in their lives too. Making friends is one such example.Hsian-An CHANG was a sixth grader and a very thoughtful child. He lived with his grandparents since starting school, whereas his parents lived elsewhere for work. He was a bright child and good at helping family chores. However, one day he incidentally witnessed something: his grandfather, who worked as a security guard for a residential building, was yelled at by a resident but tolerated him by keeping quiet. This shocked Hsian-An deeply and brought up something in him that he himself didn’t notice. He started purposely making friends with a very special person. |
