In Dead Simple, the two directors contemplate together with young children about the subject matter of mortality. The children then take us along to a fantasy world where souls are being preserved in eggs and where grandparents live amongst the stars. “In heaven you don’t really notice you're dead,” one of the children says, and another one thinks that dead people become the stars shining in the sky. Sometimes it’s that simple.
