Q : When/where is TICFF held?
A:The 2016 Taiwan International Children Film Festival (TICFF) will be held from 31 March 2016 to 7 April 2016 at Vieshow Cinemas Taipei – Hsinyi Branch. More than 80 spectacular children’s films from around the world will be showcased at this year’s festival, with many of the filmmakers making their way to Taiwan to greet fans and participate in post-screening discussion forums.

Q:Where can I buy tickets?
A:There are two places to buy tickets for this year’s TICFF:
1. All 7-Eleven ibon ticketing stations from 12:00 (noon) on 9 March 2016 (Wed) to 7 April 2016 (Thurs). Tickets for each session are available for sale until 60 minutes prior to showtime.
2. At the TICFF service kiosk at Viewshow Cinemas Taipei–Hsinyi from 31 March 2016 (Thurs) to 7 April 2016 (Thurs). Tickets for each session are available for sale until 10 minutes after screening has commenced.

Q:How much do tickets cost? Are ticket packages available?
A:There are three types of tickets available for this year’s TICFF (including discounted ticket packages):
  1. Early Bird Special offers a package of 5 tickets for NT$150 and the opportunity to reserve screening sessions in advance. Sale period from 12:00 (noon) on 9 March 2016 (Wed) to 11 March 2016 (Fri). Only 600 packs available; limit of 4 packs per transaction.Seats for each session are limited. Please exchange your tickets as soon as possible. You may exchange up to four tickets per session.
  2. Discounted Ticket Pack offers a package of 5 tickets for NT$225. Sale period from 12 March 016 (Sat) to 30 March 2016 (Wed). Limit of 4 packs per transaction.Seats for each session are limited. Please exchange your tickets as soon as possible. You may exchange up to four tickets per session.
  3. Single Tickets cost NT$50 per ticket. Sale period from 12 March 2016 (Sat) to 7 April 2016 (Thurs).
All three ticket types are available through 7-Eleven’s ibon ticketing system.

Q: Is it possible to change sessions after I bought the ticket? And what if I can’t cancel the ticket?
A: “Changing” tickets means “cancelling” tickets. If you wish to change sessions, please follow point 6 in “Ticketing-Terms & Conditions.” You may not change tickets at the same date of the screening session. We recommend that you go on our fan page

Q:Why aren’t Kids As Directors Session open for sale?

A:Three sessions of Kids As Directors are preserved for the workshop teams only. We do not sale tickets for these three sessions.

Q:Are disability concession tickets available?

A:Disability concession tickets are available only to physically or mentally disabled nationals and ONE companion who must enter the theater at the same time. Relevant identification must be presented or a fee of NT$25 will be charged to make up the difference. Patrons who require concession tickets are advised to contact the service hotline: 0988-465-638.

Q:Cutoff age for free admission?

A:Admission is by ticket only, including for children, infants and babies. Parents are reminded to consider the height of the seats as there may be instances where the screen could be obstructed for younger audiences.

Q: Are standing tickets available (if seats are sold out)?
A: No. For safety reasons, standing-room-only tickets are not permitted by law. Seats are limited, so please buy your tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Sold out screenings will be updated on the official TICFF website as soon as practicable, so those intending to buy tickets at the door should check seating availability before traveling to the venue.

Q: Is there assigned seating this year?
A: As with previous years, there is no allocated seating at this year’s TICFF and patrons are free to choose their seat on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be reminded that seats are limited and that popular screenings may be sold out quickly, so secure your tickets early!

Q:Can I refund ticket packages?
A:  Refunds of ticket packs (whole pack only, including exchanged but unused tickets) are to be processed no later than 30 March 2016 (Wed) during business hours (please call in advance) at the Public Television Service TICFF Office (Level 6, No. 11, Alley 75, Sec. 3, Kang Ning Rd, Neihu District, Taipei). Q:Can I refund single tickets?
A:Refunds of single tickets are to be processed no later than the day before the intended screening session. Prior to 30 March 2016 (Wed), refunds can be processed during business hours (please call in advance) at the Public Television Service TICFF Office (Level 6, No. 11, Alley 75, Sec. 3, Kang Ning Rd, Neihu District, Taipei). During the festival period (31 March 2016 – 7 April 2016), refunds can also be processed directly at the TICFF service kiosk at the venue. All refunds are subject to a 10% service fee. If you have purchased tickets but cannot attend a screening, we recommend exchanging tickets with family or friends or exchanging/selling through the TICFF Facebook fan page. Q:How can I get TICFF souvenirs?
A: You may collect one TICFF reward point after each screening using your ticket stub. Various souvenir options are available for redemption from 6 points and above (while stocks last).
 


Q:How can I get the special edition themed souvenirs?
A:This year TICFF has organized a series of special themed events. Anyone who has purchased tickets to a themed event will have the opportunity to score a special edition themed souvenir!
 

Q:Can I enter mid-screening?
A:To ensure the quality of the viewing experience of other patrons, latecomers will NOT be admitted to any screening session 20 minutes after the film commences (tickets will be regarded as void). Please schedule your time appropriately to avoid wasting your time and money!

Q:Can I bring food into the cinema?
A:Yes, as long as it complies with the regulations of Vieshow Cinemas. Prohibited foods including those with strong odors or make loud noises when consumed, very hot foods, alcohol, and other food products deemed inappropriate by cinema staff.

Q:Are there facilities for the disabled?
A:Yes. Vieshow Cinemas has toilets for the disabled and elevators with a voice system, Braille code, and sub-control panel. The theater also has allocated room for wheelchairs, though due to limited availability it is advisable to contact the service hotline in advance: 0988-465-638.

Q:Are there any cinema etiquettes I should be aware of?

A:To ensure the quality of the viewing experience for other patrons, please set your phone to silent or vibrate and remain as quiet as possible during the screening (if you must talk, please keep your voice as low as possible). If you are not in a hurry, please also remain in your seat until the credits have finished rolling as a sign of respect and encouragement to the filmmakers and crew.
