Opening & Closing Films
The opening and closing films are converged around the core value of TICFF: “Equal and Different”. We will be opening with the inspiring Oddball and the Oscar-nominated animation, Song of the Sea. The former is based on a true story of a young girl and her grandfather embarking on a penguin-saving mission while the later is a modern day mythology about a magical girl who uses her remarkable talent, leading her people to a better home. The closing film Lola on the Pea was selected by Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, the most influential children’s festival. The film focuses on the interaction of children coming from different family backgrounds as they struggle to understand and respect each other as well as living out their own differences.
