Ma Na Wei lives with his grandma in Lanyu. His greatest hope is to be reunited with his father working in Taiwan. His teacher, Zhong-Xun, Yu, sees the National Aboriginal Dance Competition as a chance to be transferred back to Taiwan. As Yu trains the students, he discovers Ma's talent. However, there is a big obstacle: the children don't want to wear their traditional thongs on the stage.
