台灣高等法院法警室裡三位法警進行抽籤，貴武抽到一支「吉」籤，代表他明天需要執行槍決。但他老婆懷孕還不足三個月，貴武擔心這個任務會帶來厄運，於是他請託學長信全代班出這個任務。信全勉強答應。但信全一回到家，太太提醒他明天要帶女兒去看電影。面對太太、女兒的不解和質問，信全也不願說出自己明天要執行的任務。他輾轉請託姑姑、舅舅陪女兒看電影的過程中，信全愈發感到焦慮。信全半夜輾轉難眠，騎車來找貴武，想推託掉明天槍決的任務，無奈執行名單已經進入流程，進退兩難信全該如何面對這漫漫長夜？
In the Bailiff Office of Taiwan High Courts, three bailiffs draw lots to decide who will be the gunman of tomorrow’s execution. Bailiff Quei-Wu got the mission. But his wife just got pregnant, he asked his colleague Hsin-Chuen to fill in for him to avoid bad luck. Hsin-Chuen strugglingly said yes to the mission. When Hsin-Chuen went home, his wife reminded him of the movie with his daughter tomorrow. He failed the promise to his daughter. Also his wife felt suspicious about his extra works on Saturday. Hsin-Chuen faced the dilemma that he didn’t want to reveal his execution duty to his family. Would he refuse to do it or be honest with his family?
出生於台灣基隆。台大心理系肄業。廣告導演資歷18年。2016年後跨入劇情片創作領域。首部劇情短片「女兒練習題」入圍高雄電影節、入選東京國際短片影展。劇本「夏之橘」獲文化部優良電影劇本特優獎。首部電視電影「夏之橘」入圍金鐘獎電視電影獎、迷你劇集編劇獎等四個獎項。
Chin Chia-Hua was born in Keelung, Taiwan. He studied Psychology in National Taiwan University for two years, then started his career as a commercial director for 18 years. His first feature short ‘A Daughter’s Task’was nominated by KFF International Short Film Competition, selected by Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia. His first telemovie ‘A Cold Summer Day’ won the Excellent Screenplay Award in Taiwan, nominated by Golden Bell Award for best telemovie, best mini-series screen play, best mini-series leading actor, best mini-series supporting actor.
《導演的話》
一個平凡法警對即將到來的死刑槍手任務感到不安。
旁人試著安撫，畢竟他是公務員，他在執行光明正大的任務，但正因為光明正大，他無法解釋他的不安，他只能學著跟旁人一樣冷漠。
但隨著上場時間逼近，他發現這個世界比他的想像更冷漠，他變成世上唯一在乎的人。
面對死亡的逼視，他在乎的是什麼？無非是那些他愛的、愛他的人會不會受到影響，跟那些要求他去執行死刑的人一樣，大家都是為了保護所愛，但如果驅動世界的力量是愛，何須由恨來維繫？
