My Deep Bond With Stinky Fart Grandpa

95-year-old retired photographer and avid collector of all things weird and wonderful, Ni Li, aka Stinky Fart Grandpa, and his 38-year-old trainspotter extraordinaire grandson, Antony Ni, have a very special relationship.

In today's episode, we discover why trainspotting is such an integral part of their life; how animal rescue work helped rebuild a broken filial bond; and that some encounters are destined to be reunions.

Antony Ni: We save cats and dogs. I feel they're sentient beings. They're also living beings. Therefore seeing another living being suffer is something that I find very difficult to bear.

Li Ni: Save them if you want. It's none of my business. I don't particularly like cats or dogs. But my eldest, his father loves saving dogs. No matter the filth or stench he'll bring them back.

Joseph Ni: As for how many animals I've saved I really have no idea. I only remember the dogs I wasn't able to save. It's really tough to bear. It leaves you with a wounded heart.

Maggie Chen: But if I got another chance I'd do things very differently. I’d use my own method to raise him.

Lily Pan: Niu-niu came about due to my son a year ago. He's in the army and I was filming down in the south. He said, "Mom!" "I've brought 2 kittens home." I said, "Why?" "I if didn't take them, they'd die." I said, "Really! We can't allow that." But the kittens were tiny. Feed them milk at first. But one of them did die. And Niu-niu survived.
